It’s time for the CMT Music Awards 2021! The big night meant country music’s biggest stars were perfectly dressed, but who landed a fashion hit and who landed on the miss list? Wonderwall.com rounds up the best and worst style moments of the night, starting with Kelsea Ballerina! The singer opted for pink leather on the red carpet at the CMT Music Awards and rocked this combination of top and high-waisted pants in the shiny shade of LaQuan Smith. She also adds matching strappy sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti and subtle little braids in her long beach waves. Read on to see more of the evening’s hits and misses …

A three-piece suit? Kane Brown started out strong and wore the typically very elegant outfit in gray. Unfortunately, he added a surprisingly casual unbuttoned shirt, which makes this look a mystery.

Our favorite look of the night? That belonged to Carly Pearce, who chose this cute Ines Di Santo ensemble. From the crop top to the jacket to the high-waisted shorts, this combination in the delicate pastel flower print of the singer was a serious fashion hit. She finished off with pointy toe pumps from Casadei.

Pick a track, Lauren Alaina! The country singer arrived in this split look – which consisted in part of a sleek black and silver jumpsuit and sleek brown ball gown – pairing that look with a serious fashion flaw.
Lady A’s Hillary Scott brought the rainbow to the red carpet. The singer’s sleeveless dress with a deep neckline contained multi-colored stripes in different arrangements on the bodice and skirt. Our only complaint? She finished it off with boring black heels instead of hugging the brightly colored shades.
That’s too casual, Thomas Rhett! Despite being one of our most popular country singers, Thomas missed the mark with this super-dressed appearance – an olive-green button placket, khaki pants and brown boots.
Mermaid couture! Ingrid Andress arrived on the red carpet of the CMT Music Awards in this beautiful, shimmering and sequined Georges Chakra Couture pantsuit – without a vest. We loved the teal shade and the way the singer opted for a delicate silver chain instead of a shirt underneath.
Mickey Guyton was a neon yellow vision at the CMT Music Awards! The singer arrived in this killer short-sleeved act with a floor-length skirt and an asymmetrical hem with a thigh-high slit that showcased her perfectly fitting pointed pumps.
Sorry Lainey Wilson, but that look was a huge mistake in our book. The sequined and tied crop top worn with these shiny gold high-waisted bell bottoms was a bold step in fashion, but unfortunately the conflicting, bold pieces didn’t go well together.
Karen Fairchild from Little Big Town is dressed to impress! The star rocked this with this cheerful and eye-catching mini dress that featured a gorgeous pink and teal floral print on a pink background and then completed her look with these killer velvet thigh high boots.
In order not to be outdone by her band colleague from Little Big Town, Kimberly Schlapman also landed a fashion hit in strong tones. We loved the color combination of lime green, pale pink, and lilac on this color blocking short sleeve dress.
Choose one! Cassie DiLaura’s mini dress had feathered fringes at the neckline and hem and a thick belt detail. Combined, the additions overshadowed the otherwise cute dress and made us wish she’d gone without that belt. She completed the look with black strappy sandals.
Another LBD we couldn’t get behind? HER’s number – which featured a bare high-necked, long-sleeved top with a plain black bra underneath a pleated skirt – wasn’t exactly heady compared to her past red carpet moments this year. Although we didn’t like the look, we did appreciate these cool ornate and pointy toe boots.
It was heavenly mood for Hailey Whitters wearing this black blazer dress adorned with gold stars and moon designs. She rocked the undershirt dress, opting for a black lace bralette underneath it instead and adding knee high boots to complete her sleek look.
Alecia Davis kept it super simple and opted for a classic black jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and wide-leg pants. While it looked super comfy, it seemed a little too casual for one of country music’s biggest nights out.
Blanco Brown flashed a peace sign as she rocked our favorite coat of the night – that brown plaid number over an otherwise all-black ensemble. Our only question about this look – where did it go with that big brown tote bag?
Lindsay Ell made the most of an injured foot by rocking Nikes and a silver studded shoe on the red carpet! The singer’s footwear perfectly complemented her silver mini dress, which included a long sleeve and a neckline at the waist.
Iliza Shlesinger’s dress started out as a black bustier-style number but gave way to a shiny pink skirt, resulting in a puzzling selection. Although we liked the color combination, we couldn’t get behind the funky corset-like top.
If you want to stay casual, at least make it a classy monochromatic black moment! Following this advice, Chris Young rocked a black suede jacket, t-shirt, jeans and boots on the CMT Music Awards carpet.
Another country crooner who misses? Brett Young, whose boring CMT Music Awards ensemble included a dark green jacket over it and an otherwise all-black look with boots.
Tenille Arts got the job done! The country singer arrived in this sleek strapless dress that featured a pretty purple and black geometric bead pattern throughout.
Almost, but not quite! Cody Alan started off strong with a suit jacket, but the graphic tee and black pants paired with those chunky boots ruined that potentially sharp look. And let’s not even start with this hat!
