Luxury fashion has had a rough few weeks. The famous designer Hedi slimane, who was formerly at Saint Laurent, officially resigned on Friday.

Saint Laurent liked Slimane. The former Dior designer made some noise by changing the name of Yves Saint Laurent. This helped him increase his profits. Slimane, 47 years old, has had a four-year remarkable career with the Paris-based firm. It is only natural to imagine what he will do next. Slimane isn’t alone in switching jobs lately.

Simon Spurr, the designer of Slimane, was revealed to have been at Gieves & Hawkes shortly after the Slimane story broke. This was before he ever presented his first collection. After being expelled from Kent & Curwen, the designer worked previously for the company’s Kent & Curwen label. He is now reportedly creating a line of floor lamps. Hawkes will now have a vacant position.

While we might be able to guess the destination, Ferragamo’s focus is on the in-house team of designers.

Unoccupied seat? Brioni’s top job. Justin O’Shea, a street fashion star and a tattered woman, was appointed head of the label a week ago. O’Shea is a street style star with very few design experience, so it was surprising that he was named the label’s head.
