Sherni trailer: In search of a man-eating tigress, Vidya Balan fights against sexist stereotypes in the Amazon Prime film. Clock
The trailer for the Vidya Balan staring Amazon Prime film Sherni has been released. The actor plays the role of an IFS (Indian Forest Service) officer in the film, which revolves around the delicate and often discussed balance between humans and animals.
In the video we see how Vidya’s character combats sexist stereotypes in order to overcome hurdles in both professional and private life. The actress appears to be in prime shape as she prepares to track down “a troubled tigress” who literally and metaphorically caused a turmoil in the area. While forest residents are concerned about safety, officials exchange words about the threat posed by an angry tigress.
The two-line official recap of the film reads as follows: “A jaded forest officer (Vidya Balan) leads a team of trackers and locals who seek to capture a troubled tigress while grappling with intense obstacles and stresses, both natural and man-made . ”
This seems like another meaty role for Vidya, who is known for portraying complex, layered women on screen. She is accompanied on this journey by other talented artists such as Neeraj Kabi, Vijay Raaz, Sharat Saxena and Ila Arun.
In a recent statement on Sherni, Vidya said, “Since I first heard the story of Sherni, I have found the world fascinating and so far from mine. The character I play, Vidya, is a woman with few words but many dimensions. The film deals with a sensitive topic that affects respect, mutual understanding and coexistence not only between humans and animals, but also between humans. It gives me great pleasure to bring this unique character and story closer to the global audience through Amazon Prime Video and I hope to inspire them in unexpected ways. “
Sherni was directed by Amit Masurkar, who also directed the critically acclaimed Newton. Hence, it would not be wrong to say that we are likely to be facing a worthwhile drama.
Amit also shared his experience working on the film, saying, “Sherni is a multi-faceted story that explores the complex problems of human-animal conflict. Vidya Balan plays a middle-ranking forest officer who, despite obstacles and pressure, works with her team and local allies to maintain a balance in the environment. Working with her, the great cast and the extremely talented crew was an incredible experience for me. “
Sherni is funded by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and will be released on Amazon Prime Video on June 18.
